Vintage Small American Diner Table c. 1940’s U.S. Art Deco Classic

In all my years of mucking around with vintage furniture I’ve never come across an American mid century diner table. This one is D shaped to fit against a wall on the flat side.
Petite and perfect for a small space but incredibly solid and chunky.
Two cylindrical chromed legs with cast iron platform feet support a thick solid wood top covered in dark grey Formica edged in grooved aluminium. The result is an extremely solid platform with a design look that is instantly recognisable from a thousand classic American films and images.
One can only imagine the number of sunny side ups, pieces of pie and cups of coffee that have been served on this table. One things for sure.. it never tipped over!
