Myer Heritage Vintage Mid Century Solid Tasmanian Myrtle 4 drawer chest

88cm tall 94cm wide 49cm deep fiddle grained solid Tasmanian Myrtle, a slow growing hardwood that is one of the most beautiful timbers & now an endangered species. If it was available it would be made into cellos not chests. From the high quality factory of Myer Heritage, home of the eminent designer Fred Ward known for his early Australian modernist designs. The drawers have dovetail joints and reinforced bases, the frame is strong and very well made, the body is of plank construction with shaped and rounded edges. Solid and secure with smooth gliding drawers. It has been very nicely restored, not by us, we purchased in this condition, knowing it’s great quality, now with changed style of legs & handles. Viewing in Heidelberg, Melbourne is welcome. Delivery available in the metro area for a modest fee.
