vintage Rathjen Australian Pink Pottery Table Lamp with rare pink fitting

Rathjen Pottery is the very interesting Australian pottery of Henning Rathjen active in the 50’s and 60’s.. now attracting a lot of interest from Australian pottery collectors, especially the modernist designs.
This one a more traditional motif of vine leaves with attractively shaped pierced design. The glaze is deeply textured, very typical of Rathjen. A subtle light pink colour, unusually this one has a matching mottled pink light fitting, the original early plastic (sometimes called Bakelite) in Art Deco form. I’ve never seen these in pink before, and I think it adds to the interest of this very appealing little lamp. The photos with white background show truer colour.
